J.T. Blankinship, Inc. is seeking a Professional Land Surveyor to join our staff. Qualified individuals must be self-motivated and looking to handle a multitude of various projects. JTB is a full-service civil, environmental and surveying firm with both private and public-sector clients. Our firm focuses on a wide range of projects including utility, roadway, aeronautics, storm water and surveying projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Interaction and coordination with client
Prepare estimates of survey costs
Manage and Coordinate Field Crew
Manage projects to ensure completion within schedule and budget
Preparation of Survey Calculations, Boundary Plats, ALTA Surveys and Topographic Plans
Processing of raw data from field crew
Prepare construction layout data for field crew
Assist in preparation of bid proposals for surveying services
Project administration duties, activities, document controls and project scheduling
Other assignments as needed
Key Qualifications:
Preferred 8+ years experience in Land Surveying
B.S. in Land Surveying or related field
Illinois PLS or SIT license
Knowledge of Trimble Business Center
Knowledge of Microstation and Geopak or other CAD\Survey software
Knowledge of GPS, total station and robotic total station equipment and data processing
Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.

FUNDING SPECIALIST
FUNDING SPECIALIST
JTB is looking for a funding specialist to manage the various aspects of funding for our clients. This will include both grants and loans. Experience is preferred but not required. Qualified individuals must be self-motivated and looking to handle a multitude of various projects. JTB is a full-service civil, environmental and surveying firm with both private and public-sector clients. Our firm focuses on a wide range of projects including utility, roadway, aeronautics, storm water and surveying projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages loan and grant funding for local municipalities.
Responsible for all aspects of each funding source which may include; initial grant application, environmental review, income verification, procurement, contracts, quarterly reports, financials, compliance, files and grant closeout.
Administer funding from the State of Illinois, Rural Development, DCEO, etc.
Act as the primary liaison between the grantor and the grantee.
Meet with communities to determine their areas of need.
Research and identify new sources of funding.
Maintain complete and accurate files.
Attend and speak at public meetings.
Other tasks in support of coworkers.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
Previous experience writing and administrating grants and loans preferred but not required.
Ability to multitask. Will be responsible for many funding sources that may take several years to complete
Capacity and initiative to find answers to problems independently.
Skillful writer with the ability to convey complex ideas.
Excellent time-management skills
Ability to positively work with the public.
Word processing, spreadsheet, and e-mail software
Working in a team environment
Communicating effectively, both written and verbal, with co-workers

CONSTRUCTION INSPECTOR NEEDED
CONSTRUCTION INSPECTOR NEEDED
JTB is looking for a construction inspector to ensure contractor compliance with the Construction Contract. Experience is preferred but not required. Qualified individuals must be self-motivated and looking to handle a multitude of various projects. JTB is a full-service civil, environmental and surveying firm with both private and public-sector clients. Our firm focuses on a wide range of projects including utility, roadway, aeronautics, storm water and surveying projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Observe the contractor's construction and installation work in accordance with the plans, specifications, and special provisions for the Construction Contract to determine that work observed is constructed in general conformance with such documents.
Document construction activities observed on a daily diary, provide photographic records, and track completed work.
Assist in reviewing contractor progress payment.
Provide field support services for submittals, and request for contract change orders.
Notify the Design Engineer of any observed non-conformances and assist in the issuance of non-conformance reports as required.
Document as-built conditions as observed.
Monitor and document change order work in the field.
Monitor the Contractor's Quality Control activities, including the Contractor's sampling and testing of materials.
Monitor Contractor's Work Zone Traffic Control Plan and review modifications to the Work Zone Control Plan
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
Well-organized, intelligent person
Inspection background a plus but not required
IDOT documentation of contract quantities a plus.
High School level mathematics
CADD, word processing, spreadsheet, and e-mail software
Scaling, drawing layout and a high degree of accuracy in copying
Working in a team environment
Communicating effectively, both written and verbal, with co-workers

Civil Engineer
MUNICIPAL, WATER OR SEWER ENGINEER
J.T. Blankinship, Inc. is seeking a Civil Engineer with interest in municipal, water, or sewer projects to join our staff. Experience is preferred but not required. Qualified individuals must be self-motivated and looking to handle a multitude of various projects. JTB is a full-service civil, environmental and surveying firm with both private and public-sector clients. Our firm focuses on a wide range of projects including utility, roadway, aeronautics, storm water and surveying projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform design and analysis for civil engineering projects using accepted design practices
Work independently on design and production of construction plans, specifications and cost estimates
Prepare design calculations, quantity take-offs and cost estimates
Direct and review production of drawings by CAD draftsmen as well as the ability to complete your own drawings
Attend project meetings
Project administration duties, activities, document controls and project scheduling
Other assignments as needed
Key Qualifications:
B.S. in Civil Engineering or related field
PE or EIT license or willing to acquire
Working knowledge and experience with state and regional regulations
Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
Knowledge of MicroStation and Geopak preferred
Project experience working with IEPA, RD, DCEO, various counties and/or local municipalities
